This week I had the pleasure to meet one of my paisanas from Michoacán de Ocampo, Janett Moctezuma. She is a Health Science Major: Option in Community Health Education. She is a fifth-year full-time student and has two jobs; one as a caregiver and the other is on campus. She is in the ETA Sigma Gamma Health Science Honor Society and is the Health Science Student Association Secretary. Her favorite color is pink, and she loves sleeping and enjoys listening to Banda. I find it funny how we’re from the same places in Mexico, and also here. She lives in Compton on  Alondra and Atlantic. After graduation, she wants to go to nursing school. Her goal is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. She loves to help people and feels it’s a career that really suits her and her personality. She has 3 dogs; Yuki is a Siberian Husky, Lucky is a Boxer, and BBs a Chihuahua. She enjoys walking them in her spare time and taking them on baby trips to Pet Smart to get them treats. Music is the type of art that has had the most influence on her. She has grown up with music and as a child, music to her was happiness and that was because at her family parties they danced. She realized as she grew up that there were all types of music that express different emotions. In certain situations during her middle school years, she began to connect with the music and how she felt. She felt comfortable that other people felt just like she did, and music is important to her because it influences her everyday life.
